(a) Osmoregulation in Paramecium  is a function of contractile vacuole. Paramecium contains two contractile vacuoles, which have fixed positions near the body ends in ectoplasm of aboral side. Each vacuole contains a definite unit membrane covering called vacuolar condensation membrane.
