The circuit arrangement shown in figure (b) is the correct arrangement for verification of Ohm’s law. For convenience the same figure has been redrawn here. In the figure, 
is the resistance, for which Ohm’s law is to be verified. Voltmeter 
is connected to its parallel and ammeter, cell and rheostat arrangement in the series.
