During sexual reproduction in , (+) and (-) strains of mycelia simulate each other through pheromone like trisporic acid to form zygophores. Zygophores of two strains come in contact to form progametangia then coenogametangia. Then after gametangial copulation, zygospores with warty wall layer are formed which germinate in favorable conditions and form a germ tube.
