Answer Key / Explanation : (a) -
Let the population in 2014=100
As it increases by 12%
∴ Population in 2015=112
Now, the population decreases by 12%
∴ Population in 2016=112-
13.44=98.56
∴ Population decreased = 100-98.56=1.44%
