Answer Key / Explanation : (a) -

Let P be the foot of perpendicular from point A(2, −1, 4) on the given line. So P can be assumed as P(10 − 3, −7 + 2, )

DR’s of AP ∝ to 10 − 5, −7 + 3,  − 4

AP and given line are perpendicular, so

10(10 − 5) − 7(−7 + 3) + 1( − 4) = 0

 =

AP =

      =

      =  :   (3, 4)
