Question 1.

Answer the following
(i) $3 \mathrm{Km} \mathrm{} 500 \mathrm{~m}=$
Answer:
$\begin{aligned}
&3 \mathrm{Km} 500 \mathrm{~m}=3+500 \times \frac{1}{1000} \\
&=3+\frac{1}{2}=3 \frac{1}{2} \mathrm{~km}
\end{aligned}$
(ii) $25 \mathrm{Km} 250 \mathrm{~m}=$
Answer:
$\begin{aligned}
&25 \mathrm{Km} \mathrm{250 \textrm {m }}=25+250 \times \frac{1}{1000} \\
&=25+\frac{1}{4}=25 \frac{1}{4} \mathrm{~km}
\end{aligned}$
(iii) $17 \mathrm{Km} \mathrm{} 750 \mathrm{~m}=$
Answer:
$17 \mathrm{Km} \mathrm{} 750 \mathrm{~m}=17+750 \times{ }_{1000}$
$=17+\frac{3}{4}=17 \frac{3}{4} \mathrm{~km}$
(iv) $35 \mathrm{Km} \mathrm{} 250 \mathrm{~m}=$
Answer:
\begin{tabular}{l} $35 \mathrm{Km} 250 \mathrm{~m}=35+250 \times$ \\ $=35+\frac{1}{4}=35 \frac{1}{4} \mathrm{~km} \quad 1000$ \\ \hline \end{tabular}
(v) $45 \mathrm{Km} 750 \mathrm{~m}=$
Answer:

&=45+\frac{3}{4}=45 \frac{3}{4} \mathrm{~km}

Convert into Hours: [In fraction]
(i) 10 minutes
Answer:
10 minutes $=10 \times \frac{1}{60}$
$=\frac{1}{6}$ hours
(ii) 25 minutes
Answer:
25 minutes $=25 \times \frac{1}{60}$
$=\frac{5}{12}$ hours
(iii) 36 minutes
Answer:
36 minutes $=36 \times \frac{1}{60}$
$=\frac{3}{5}$ hours
(iv) 48 minutes
Answer:
48 minutes $=48 \times \frac{1}{60}$
$=\frac{4}{5}$ hours

(v) 50 minutes
Answer:
50 minutes $=50 \times \frac{1}{60}$
$=\frac{5}{6}$ hours
 

Question $3 .$
Convert into minutes:
(i) $\frac{5}{6}$ Hour
Answer:
$\frac{5}{6}$ Hour $=\frac{5}{6} \times 60$
$=50$ minutes
(ii) $\frac{8}{10}$ Hour
Answer:
$\frac{8}{10}$ Hour $=\frac{8}{10} \times 60$
$=48$ minutes

(iii) $\frac{4}{6}$ Hour
Answer:
$\frac{4}{6}$ Hour $=\frac{4}{6} \times 60$
$=40$ minutes
(iv) $\frac{5}{10}$ Hour
Answer:
$\frac{5}{10}$ Hour $=\frac{5}{10} \times 60$
$=30$ minutes
(v) $\frac{6}{10}$ Hour
Answer:
$\frac{6}{10}$ Hour $=\frac{6}{10} \times 60$
$=36$ minutes

Write the $\frac{1}{4}, \frac{1}{2}$ and $\frac{3}{4}$ parts of the following
(i) ₹ 200
Answer:
$\frac{1}{4}$ part of ₹ $200=\frac{1}{4} \times 200=\frac{200}{4}=₹ 50$
$\frac{1}{2}$ part of ₹ $200=\frac{1}{2} \times 200=\frac{200}{2}=₹ 100$
$\frac{3}{4}$ part of ₹ $200=\frac{3}{4} \times 200=\frac{600}{4}=₹ 150$
(ii) $₹ 10,000$
Answer:
$\frac{1}{4}$ part of $₹ 10,000=\frac{1}{4} \times 10,000=\frac{10000}{4}=₹ 2500$
$\frac{1}{2}$ part of ₹ $10,000=\frac{1}{2} \times 10,000=\frac{10000}{2}=₹ 5000$
$\frac{3}{4}$ part of $₹ 10,000=\frac{3}{4} \times 10,000=\frac{30000}{4}=₹ 7500$
(iii) $₹ 8,000$
Answer:
$\frac{1}{4}$ part of ₹ $8,000=\frac{1}{4} \times 8,000=\frac{8000}{4}=₹ 2000$
$\frac{1}{2}$ part of $₹ 8,000=\frac{1}{2} \times 8,000=\frac{8000}{2}=₹ 4000$
$\frac{3}{4}$ part of ₹ $8,000=\frac{3}{4} \times 8,000=\frac{24000}{4}=₹ 6000$

(iv) $₹ 24,000$
Answer:
$\frac{1}{4}$ part of ₹ $24,000=\frac{1}{4} \times 24,000=\frac{24000}{4}=₹ 6000$
$\frac{1}{2}$ part of ₹ $24,000=\frac{1}{2} \times 24,000=\frac{24000}{2}=₹ 12000$
$\frac{3}{4}$ part of ₹ $24,000=\frac{3}{4} \times 24,000=\frac{72000}{4}=₹ 18000$
(iv) ₹ 50,000
Answer:
$\frac{1}{4}$ part of $₹ 50,000=\frac{1}{4} \times 50,000=\frac{50000}{4}=₹ 12500$
$\frac{1}{2}$ part of ₹ $50,000=\frac{1}{2} \times 50,000=\frac{50000}{2}=₹ 25000$
$\frac{3}{4}$ part of ₹ $50,000=\frac{3}{4} \times 50,000=\frac{150000}{4}=₹ 37500$
