A fantastic journey to the European city of Cappadocia, in the heart of Turkey. A city with ancient history, old churches, and beautiful history and landscape equally. Read more.

Cappadocia- Experience Hot Air Balloon With A Blend Of History And Culture

  • I am Danny Brown, a doctor by profession in New York City. And we are a family of two with my wife.

  • My wife always complains to me that I never have time for her. As a doctor, we have many patients' lives at our hands, and we cannot put our own life's a priority.

  • She is a primary school teacher and understands me, and supports me very well. But I always forget our important dates, and I don't blame her for complaining. She always does way more for me. So it was my turn to make her feel special.

  • I planned a surprise for her and booked our tickets to Cappadocia, Turkey, for our anniversary. My turn to show her that I remember our anniversary date.

  • I have not surprised her for a long time, last I surprised her was when she said yes to marry me. It was our 5th marriage anniversary.

  • We have been together for 18 years now. She was very thrilled and happy. She always said that she wanted to go to Europe. It was the best moment of my life to see her so happy after so long.

  • So, without wasting any time, we packed our bags and headed for our journey. It was a long and tiring flight of about 12-13 hours. But we reached our destination. Our arrival was at Nev_ehir Kapadokya Airport (NAV). It was a 45 minutes drive from there to the central city.

  • We already made all our reservations, so we directly headed to our hotel by cab. It was a cave hotel.

  • The hotel room was exclusively pretty. We had never seen a cave hotel before and got excited. It was a very overwhelming experience.

  • Cappadocia has some of the best Cave hotels that are unimaginably gorgeous, cozy, and luxurious.

  • The following day we woke up to explore the city and visit different places. I learned a few facts about the city that it forms as a result of volcanic eruptions.

  • It is a historical region with so much history and culture dating to 300 BC. Cappadocia is popularly known for its iconic rock structure, fairy chimneys, and hot air ballooning.

  • How could we ever miss that! We had booked tickets for the hot air ballooning for the evening as we got to know from the hotel staff that evening view is the best time; to watch a sunset and the entire city looks red.

So we headed out for some sightseeing in the city on foot. Some of the must-visit places of Cappadocia that we covered are -

  • Goreme Open Air Museum.

  • Underground Cities.

  • Deverent Valley.

  • Pasabag (Monks Valley).

Experiencing Hot Air Balloon:

  • We then headed for our hot air balloon tour of the city. The take-off was shaky, and it scared me a lot. I was nervous, but once we reached up in the air, the view was worth all the nervousness.

  • After such a tiring day, we had a lavish Turkish meal and enjoyed it for some time. We already made some plans for the next day so was very eager for it to come.

  • And the following day, we went horse riding and visited some of the ethnic market places. We also stopped at an old church and prayed, and I thanked God for giving me such a loving, beautiful, and understanding wife and for the successful trip.

  • We had our meal at a fascinating place, where they served food in pottery. In the present times, food served in pottery is almost disappeared; this gave a very ancient and ethnic vibe. We had a very healthy and happy meal.

  • We planned our trip for two days. A two-four day trip to Cappadocia is more than enough. It is a beautiful place but scorching and humid—complete continental weather.

  • The entire experience was great and memorable. I had many expectations from Cappadocia; I am glad that it was way better than my expectations.

  • It was a fun and romantic getaway for us. We finally had some time for each other. I wish to travel more with my wife, make some more time for her, and visit such exciting places.

  • This trip has also given me a new passion for traveling and exploring different places. I have already started to plan our next vacation and that too with Southwest Airlines Reservations only.

  • While I was travelling to this place in Southwest Airlines I was mesmerized with the services and behaviour of the staff. And with a partner like my wife, all journeys and trips are memorable.

  • However, some memories are unique, they always stay with you, and from this trip, I will never forget the view from above the sky, floating on the hot air balloon holding the hand of my love. Always and forever will be cherished.
