Answer:
(a) $5 \mathrm{~m}$
$5 \mathrm{~m}=5 \times 100=500 \mathrm{~cm}$
(b) $7 \mathrm{~m}$
$7 \mathrm{~m}=7 \times 100=700 \mathrm{~cm}$
(c) $9 \mathrm{~m}$
$9 \mathrm{~m}=9 \times 100=900 \mathrm{~cm}$
(d) $16 \mathrm{~m}$
$16 \mathrm{~m}=16 \times 100=1600 \mathrm{~cm}$

$6000 \mathrm{~cm}=6000 \div 100=60 \mathrm{~m}$

(c) $13000 \mathrm{~cm}$

The distance between bus stand and school is $81 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{} 40 \mathrm{~cm}$ and the distance between school and temple is $20 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{} 10 \mathrm{~cm}$. What is the total distance from bus stand to temple ?
Answer:
Distance between bus stand to school $=81 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{} 40 \mathrm{~cm}$
Distance between school to temple $=20 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{} 10 \mathrm{~cm}$

Distance between bus stand to temple is $=101 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{} 50 \mathrm{~cm}$

Question $7 .$
Arul has a 4 metre long piece of wood. He wants to cut it into 2 equal lengths. How long should each piece be in millimetres?
Answer:
Length of wood $=4 \mathrm{~m}=4000$ millimeter
It is divided into two equal parts $=2000+2000$
Length of each piece $=2000$ millimeter.
 

Question 8 .
Amudha knows tailoring. She bought 10 metre long cloth. She needs 4 curtains to be stitched. Each curtain's height is $160 \mathrm{~cm}$. Would she be able to stitch all curtains? If some cloth is left behind, how much would it be?
Ans.
Total length of cloth $=10 \mathrm{~m}=1000 \mathrm{~cm}$.
size to sew four fabrics $=4 \times 160=640 \mathrm{~cm}=6 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{} 40 \mathrm{~cm}$
